Definition: Mean annual temperature of the ground at a particular depth. The mean annual temperature of the ground usually increases with depth below the surface. The Mean Annual Ground Temperature at the Depth of Zero Annual Amplitude is often used to assess the thermal regime of the ground at various locations.
