Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is the globaladdress of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. The firstpart of the address indicates what protocol to use, and the second partspecifies the IP address or the domain name where the resource is locatedfollowed by the pathname of the resource. A URL is specified in the formprotocol://server.domain.name:port/pathname. Example protocols are HTTP orFTP, server domain name is the Internet name.
