A 1-3/4 inch square, semi-permanent stake, marked in inch increments to measure snow depth. NOAA-NWS Graduated stake fixed in the ground in regions of abundant snowfall to facilitate the measurement of snow depth. WMOMeteoterm Graduated fixed stake to facilitate the measurement of snow depth. WMOHydrology A wooden scale, calibrated in inches or centimeters, used in regions of deep snow to measure its depth.
